The island of Ustica is undoubtfully the homeland of scuba diving as more than 30 years ago here was created the first Italian Marine Protected Area. This fact, in addition to the scarce anthropic pressure, makes its sea extremely rich in life.
At Scoglio del Medico or Secca della Colombara, to name just a couple of dive sites, meeting sumptuous amberjacks, big groupers, and huge schools of barracudas is just normal. Yet its intimate charm lies in the submerged volcanic landscapes, including caves, canyons, columnar basalts…
Thanks to such an impressive underwater environment, and also because of the presence of many shallow dive sites with hardly any current, Ustica is also the perfect spot for who is learning to dive.
In Ustica we collaborate with Cristina and Nicolò from Orca Diving Center and with Damiana from Lustrica Diving Center. They both are PADI dive centers and use large and fast rubberboats equipped for diving, while the filling stations are nearby the harbor. We can dive twice in the morning and once in the afternoon. The service is so impeccable that you will never have to lift your tank, except of course when you’re ready to jump!
