Marettimo’s most attractive feature is certainly the huge benthonic biodiversity associated to a widespread presence of red gorgonians at modest depths.

Dive sites such as San Simone and Punta Basana, for instance, host corals (red, orange, and white gorgonians, leptogorgia, gold coral) and alcyonarians as shallow as 20 meters.

Beside all this, though, the presence of the largest Marine Protected Area in the Mediterranean has brought back a massive quantity of fish especially in some dive sites where, in addition to barracudas, big dentex and big groupers, the encounters with rarer species such as the eagle rays are always possible. Finally, in springtime particularly, the presence and biodiversity of nudibranchs is astonishing!

For the most experiences divers, exploring the so-called Cathedral cave will be a mystic and unique experience.

In Marettimo we collaborate with the PADI center Blu Tek Diving. Davide and Diletta own a big diving boat with a full-day kind of service: two dives, lunch onboard in-between and more time to swim and relax. However, also a fully equipped rubberboat is availabe for special needs.
