CASTELLAMMARE - SAN VITO - USTICA

MINIMUM DURATION: 1 week

MONTHS: June

The tuna route, Sailing Bubbles itinerary © Il cielo in una sogliola

Within this route we will enjoy all the diversity the Mediterranean can show: the spectacular steep coast of the Zingaro Nature Reserve; the cape of San Vito Lo Capo with its tropical colors and African scents; and the volcanic yet sweet darkness of Ustica, the first Italian Marine Protected Area.

At the same time, this is where bluefin tunas love to dwell and fall in love once they enter the Med! Which is witnessed by the astonishing architecture of the Tonnara di Scopello.

Everyday, we will just don’t know what to choose among landscapes, wind, and traces of the past!

MARSALA - MARETTIMO - FAVIGNANA and LEVANZO

MINIMUM DURATION: 7 days

MONTHS: July - August

The far west, Sailing Bubbles itinerary © Il cielo in una sogliola

The Aegadian Islands are Sicily’s westernmost outpost. They stand somehow as a bridge towards Tunisia, whose proximity is evident in the colors and traditions of these three small pieces of land.

At the same time, the Aegadian Islands form the largest Marine Protected Area in Europe. Created in 1991, it has long proven its benefits: services for seafarers are well organized and its waters are truly rich and lively, the latter feature being particularly interesting for us divers…

While Favignana and Levanzo will awe you for both their history (not to miss are the visits to the Museo della Tonnara in Favignana and the prehistoric Grotta del Genovese in Levanzo) and their crystal clear bays shaped by the erosion of the calcareous tuff stone, in Marettimo you will be amazed at discovering
dolomitic landscapes, a detached piece of the Alps in the middle of the sea!
With scuba diving, trekking, and traditions, here Sicily gives itself at its best.

CAPO D'ORLANDO - FILICUDI and Aeolian Islands - CAPO MILAZZO

MINIMUM DURATION: 1 week

MONTHS: September - October

At Aeolus' place, Sailing Bubbles itinerary © Il cielo in una sogliola

The itinerary snakes inside the volcanic archipelago of the Aeolian Islands, the first Italian site to be included in the UNESCO world heritage list for its natural beauties.

This is a true sailing paradise, with the winds funneling between the high and steep mountains.
Furthermore, some are still active volcanoes despite the attaching local communities who still live there.

Underwater gems are also hidden here, especially in Filicudi and Lipari, where the volcanic activity has shaped truly astonishing seascapes.

As for the Marine Protected Area of Capo Milazzo, well, you’ll find out that above and below the water its wonders do rival with those of much more renowned – and crowded – spots…

LAMPEDUSA - LINOSA

MINIMUM DURATION: 7 days

MONTHS: not scheduled for 2024

Almost tropics, Sailing Bubbles itinerary © Il cielo in una sogliola

Boarding directly in Lampedusa, we will sail within the Pelagie Islands archipelago, at the end of Sicily and, somehow, of the Mediterranean too.

It is an ideal itinerary. The distance between Lampedusa and Linosa is about 25 miles, which implies a wonderful sailing with dolphins and turtles sightings. Moreover the two islands, belonging to a Marine Protected Area, couldn’t be more different: the former looks like a piece of rocky desert with its blinding brightness; the latter shows off its dark yet luxuriant volcanic nature.

Finally a secret: even in August, there are practically no other boats anchoring beside us in Linosa…
