Egadi Scuba Diving
Being part, beside Marettimo, of the Egadi Islands Marine Protected Area, the largest in Europe, Favignana and Levanzo host dives that are sheer explosions of life.
The coralligenous habitat is abundant here too, with sea-fans, leptogorgias, alcyonarians and their epibionts, among which the not-so-rare basket stars.
Yet the seascapes are more heterogenous here. Hypnotizing schools of barracudas and small fish glitter on several shallows, walls, and canyons.
Levanzo hides a gem: the archeological dive site of Cala Minnola, where we are surrounded by Dressel 1 amphoras that used to carry wine inside a 1st century BC Roman ship.
In Favignana and Levanzo we dive in collaboration with our friends Vincenzo and Francesco’s Egadi Scuba Diving. Welcoming and professional, we’ll be their guests onboard their well equipped diving boat, where the key word is one: slow dive!
